howdy ya'll. my names dave. i'm rather new to trucking considering the time some of ya'll spent out here on the road. i've only been driveing for 2 years with swift. and yes i've heard alot of jokes about swift and how i should change companys but i got a good terminal with good office personell backing me. i get what i need when i need it from them and 75% of the time i get what i want. i don't want to give up a good relationship with the ppl i got that keep me moveing to start over. so far i truly enjoy o.t.r driveing. its better then my last two career choices which were marines and correctional officer. i basically got on this site for fun. i have no high hopes. but i won't rule out any opertunity to talk to new ppl and learn new things especially with other truckers. i learn something new about the buisness everytime i sit down in a truck stop. i'm open to any advice, comments, or to just chat with anyone. so take care ya'll and drive safe


by the way if ya'll got any good swift acronyms or jokes please post. i'm always looking for a new one. i've even come up with my very own swift acronym which i tested on a d.o.t. officer (of course that was after i alread passed his check of my logbook) and he about fell out of his chair

I work at the Petro in Egan, Louisiana as a security guard and during my first week there - a SWIFT driver put his trailer in the ditch. He couldn't get it out on his own, so we had to call a wrecker.

Way to go SWIFT! LOL

I have a story about JB that tops that one.

.I don't drive for Swift, but the person that wrote this doesn't even drive ... he's a rent-a-cop and has no right to be a critic. Hell, we probably aren't even getting the whole story. We have all made mistakes in our job - it's not as easy as it looks and we work long hours traveling roads we have never been on and in weather that would garage most four -wheelers. Plus, I've seen quite a few truck stops that don't clearly mark entrances and exits and are not very well lit around "ditches" near those exits and entrances. Until you have done this job, you can't speak on the quality of a driver, regardless of who he or she works for.
