why do hotels have to feel so lonely??? I hate being stuck in hotels without someone to at least cuddle with. Are all hotels this way? or is it just me?

`I think we get that feeling because we sense that there is someone else, a complete stranger, like us, alone in bed possibly wanting the same thing on the other side of the wall, or down the hall.

`Been in many while travelling. Thats why I am trying to find someone to travel with. I love the big rigs most of there drivers have the same mentality as a biker so in for a penny in for a pound and I keep looking here.

`Anymore my truck feels like a lonely place, I mean I can talk to the other drivers on the road however when I shutdown the reality sinks in that yet again I am alone. I thought buying a KW would make me feel all better however once I settle in for the night its just me and the truck. LOL. Finding someone to enjoy life with as a trucker seems impossible however I keep my head up and my eyes looking.

`All you can do my friend lol. And if you meet someone on here just try and meet up in person and see if you think it's going anywhere. Met up with a couple of guys here. Held a very good friendship over from one and a friendship from the other. In the beginning via the net may lok great but meeting first is important. and getting back on topic alone is alone be it motel or truck.

`So true biker, I haven't met anyone in person and have only talked via phone with one. I am not the best at this stuff.

`I probably spend on average 2 nights a week in a hotel just to get out of the truck. The hotel does not offer much more in the way of anti-lonely but it is a bit of a break from the tiny and very lonely truck. I look for a hotel with an adjacent bar/tavern or a popular restaurant to try and be around "real people" for an hour.

`Loneliness is the business, when time is unoccupied. When truckers ran much harder, they welcomed most periods they got for laying over. Time spent catching up on sleep. They also spent much of the time, fixing their trucks, which has gone by the wayside with DOT and newer trucks.
The internet has helped occupy some of this time. I normally will walk to a restaurant some distance to occupy time or just a walk to anywhere. Some blow the breeze with other truckers, but I find to much bad (BS) information going that route to be involved.
Couple of movies and some use game systems, which do not interest myself. Rather spend the time catching up on emails and new investments. Also, the latest going on in the trucking industry.
This week end-caught by surprise--I will check out and start planning a trip in Europe for next summer via Rick Steves, Dreaming...
