This is a interesting subject when backing up to a dock dont let your peers get in the way of making good decisions.Dont believe the old myth of you only get two shots at this. Thats only during your road test the rest of the time take all the shots at that you need to feel comfortable in backing, you are the one who will have to answer for the damage if you hit somebody,s truck.Or worse somebody.your approach to the dock is the key, try to approach from the drivers side of the truck and when you come up to the lane for your dock look directly in front of your door and see where you need to stop your truck, pick a part of a fence or a can or anything that will let you know that when you line up with it your trl.will be pointed towards the dock.

`Most important thing I could add to that is GOAL...Get Out And Look, don't worry about what other drivers say cuz you got out and looked, espically if you lose site of that trailer its alot cheaper then taking out a peterbuilt.

`Goal! Must be a Swift driver lol. I just started myself and have had many successful backs thanks to these tips. I learned them before I read this, but other new people should heed these words.
