Here is my scoop to clean the truck and always looking to try new ideas. So please tell me yours.

I try to limit the amount of products I carry with me and use on the rig. Because compact is the word for drivers or the truck gets cluttered.

First to clean the interior of the truck. I use a orange base heavy duty cleaner and towel and wipe and scrub away. Does not take much if one does it on a regular basis and keeps shoes only in front of seat. Use the same product on carpets. If really heavy grease from some mechanic-brake cleaner works but be careful it will discolor some carpets. After which--

I use armour all tire shine for rubber floors and dash. A rag takes the shine out. But using a tooth brush for tight areas and/or scrubby with backing. It looks like one of those nets for washing your body but attached to a block. This leaves enough film to bring on big shine and goes on fast. Do not touch till dry-about an hour later. Tire Shine does not attract dust and lasts much longer for shine.

Use same for tires.

If I have a chipped window I use polish. Several different polishes work if they are chemical bonding. The oil based ones smear the window. I like Nu-Finish. It has abrasion in it but does not hurt windows and acts like a buffer on the chipped glass and leaves a glare free glass.

Use the same for polishing body of truck as one can do it in the heat of the day with excellent results. Let it thoroughly dry before buffing. It seems as truckers we can always get a break at a dock or rest area in the heat of the day. The truck does not need to be just washed to polish it. Heavy soil does need to be off it.

For cleaning glass with tinted windows ammonia free is a must. I come to like Armour All glass cleaner and a bath towel can clean all the windows/glass quickly. Can do this at the fuel island in the time it takes the tanks to fill. Secret is to wipe clean and if not warm outside. Wipe quickly clean to get the majority of dirt. Let the rest dry and wipe quickly to finish the clarity.

Of course a regular visit to the Blue Beacon is in order or nothing on the exterior matters for cleanliness.

For aluminum wheels I prefer Zephr chrome polish for wheels. Make sure to let it dry thoroughly before buffing. Or twice the work and I question how well it bonded to the metal.

This polish is not for finished chrome. Once chrome is scratched you can only replace it or leave it with heart ache. Chrome is cleaned and not really polished. So using the glass cleaner or armour all tire shine is fine with a towel. Make sure towel is clean and is not hiding some grit to scratch chrome.

Use the same armour all and procedure for tires and on plastic exterior. Make sure to wash scrubby clean as it may contain some dirt from the tire that will scratch the plastic.

Polishing the body of the truck takes about three hours for a condo, polishing inside of truck takes fifteen minutes, glass, the time to fuel. Aluminum wheels can take two hours to four hours, depending on humidity and how warm. The warmer and drier the faster drying to polish. Of course if one admirers their work or gets passer-byes taking notice. The time is much longer as pride has its course.

Walla, a clean truck that shines down the road and keeps your attitude up on the inside.
